Along with development of the global and national skating technology, more and morepeople realize the importance of skating technology research. Usually for the high speed event, how to make the competitor to get the maximun speed capability is the target of the most relativeresearch. The research is almost to get the perfect mechanical effect by improving the skatingtechnology. The foreign scholar have taken the study of the male competitors' combinaton of theskate movement and the velocity, and they concluded such result: the important factor whichimpact the velocity of skating are high step frequency, low latitude, the low level of gravity centerand the minimum rear pedal angle. We took the skating movement research by using video performance analysis. We cameraedthe skating movement, and used other analysis software to study the character of the movement. We started from the deviation of the relationship of step length and step frequecy between theaquatic events and the overland events. Through the studies of the states at different skating speed,we take the analysis of relation of the step length and step frequecy in different condition(including the dynamic support and at different speed skating). At last, we concluded such result: In terms of relation between skating step length and stepfrequency, no matter whatever the support pattern (including the static support or the dynamicsupport) is, it had the certain consistency: confirmed to some function curve. The step length ischanged along with the variety of sliding distance. The classic theory of relation between steplength and step frequecy at overland events is not suit for the overice events.
