This article will investigate and analyses the problems which existin the English listening teaching in the current high school. I chosethe 11 high school to be the research object. I asked the students toanswer some questions about English listening and I also interviewedsome teachers for answers about their teaching. I found that Englishlanguage teaching was instructed by the university entrance examinationin the present. Many teachers and students focus on reading and writingskills and ignored listening skill. It resulted in the weakness of theirlistening ability. In order to solve the problem, teachers should knowit is important to improve the listening skill of the students and alsothey should find good ways to improve it. The teachers should try tomake the class active and attract the students to draw their attentionto the listening skill and they should work together and try to developthe four skills of English language and keep the development of the fourskills balanced.
