Learning geometry, a branch of mathematics, concerning the mathematical methods, contributes a lot to training the students' comprehensive ability such as configuration, logic, analysis and plausible reasoning. As a significant member of the geometry system, solid geometry, on which the educators focus a great deal of attention, holds an important position in the mathematics teaching in senior high as well as in college entrance examination. We did some research on the comparison of the two text books-Senior High Mathematics (the newly published edition) and Solid Geometry. As a result, we worked out a series of new teaching plan, plus a problem solving model in the areas of solid geometry. At the same time, we also discussed the necessity and the feasibility of those teaching plans in respect of the display of the contents and the organization and application of the plans within the new teaching system. The article goes into four parts. Part 1 mainly deals with the beginning of the problem as well as the influence of this research: it is necessary to look at the solid geometry lessons in a new prospect and seek new approaches to promote the reform of the education and meet the challenge in the 21st century. Part 2 provides a closer look at the basis of those teaching designs as a result of our previous analysis about the text book, students as well as the teachers. Part3 illustrates the specific teaching and learning procedures with our efforts to reorganize and rearrange the contents of the solid geometry; it also provides the readers with a problem solving model. Finally, the article goes to a conclusion and gives some personal suggestions about the reform of the math teaching.
