Impacts Of Educational Video Games On Primary School And Middle School Teaching

There are some unsatisfying factors existing in current school teaching and influencing learning effects, such as unable to evoke students' motivation and enthusiasm, neglecting cultivating students' learning abilities and neglecting students' personalities, etc. Many students have no interesting in learning and a few students pay action to video games because of these problems. The purpose of this paper is to study the impacts of educational video games on primary school and middle school teaching by related theories analysis and case study.The paper starts from the concept and essence of video games, and then studies the relationship between video games and education, learning factors lying in video games and characteristics of educational video games. In the same time, a teaching experiment is carried out in pro-middle school mathematics teaching in Shanghai Minhang 2nd middle school to study the impact of educational video games on primary school and middle school regular teaching.The study compares and analyzes learning effect of controllable group and experiment group from different view points and uses survey to study acceptance of educational video games in school teaching and changes of learning attitude by educational video games.The teaching experiment indicates that educational video games are effective in improving primary school and middle school regular teaching. They can enhance understanding capability and improve mastering of comprehensive questions, but are not so helpful in mastering basic questions. Educational video games have positive impact on learning attitude.At last, the paper points out that the educational video games on primary school and middle school are only a try, there are many problems still need to research.
