The professional development of teachers is one of the hotly discussed issues of the teacher education reform of the world. With the recognition to the importance of training people for the development of social econimics and culture ,the construction of teachers' knowledgewhich is directly concerned with the people development has become more and more concerned about.In many countries,teacher development has become the most active and important part of the education reform.A research to teachers knowledge has great theoretical and practical significance.The research of this dissertation is mainly part of teacher education and category of development of teacher profession. It also comes down to general category of pedagogy, philosophy(epistemology), school management and educational policy etc. In general the main questions of this dissertation to be solved are: How do primary school teachers develop their teaching knowledge ? The original information and data of research are got through questionnaire survey, attending lectures andInterviewing with teachers selecting forty-eight primary school teachers of English from Nanhai City of Guangdong Province and fifty-four primary primary teachers of English from Foshan City of Guangdong Province. The material analysis and data settlement are handled with the research methods of quality and quantity.The main decisions of this research are: The frame model of teachers' teaching knowledge is put forward and illustrated. That is, with regard to the sources of teacher teaching knowledge, teachers' 'teaching experience and reflection and daily intercommunion with colleagues' are the most important sources for teachers to develop their teaching knowledge of themself. 'The training in service', an' organized professional activities' are stll very important sources, but in comparisonwith above sources 'the experiences as a student', 'training beforce service' and' reading professional books and periodicals' are less important sources. Finally I put forward some suggestions for the development of teachers'teaching knowledge and look ahead on the future development of teacher knowledge.
