This paper is intended to understand and analyze collective and individual conception of rural residents of China. By the questionnaires from 2012 rural residents of Beijing, Shanghai, Heilongjiang Province, Shanxi Province and Hubei Province, this paper reviews the development and its influence factors of collective and individual conception of rural residents in the period of social transformation,makes a relatively deeper discussion about it in terms of sociology and social psychology, and attempts to put forward some theoretical explanations. This paper is composed of following 4 parts: The first part introduces the background of the study, reviews correlative study situation at home and overseas; clarifies the purpose, significance and basic thought of the study, defines collective and individual conception and its content, and offers main study methods. Based on questionnaire, the second part carries out univariate descriptive statistic analysis, discloses current status of collective and individual conception of rural residents,and briefly analyzes the relationships between the four aspects of collective and individual conception of rural residents In the third part, multianalysis are performed to investigate those individual factors and family factors which have important influence on the development of collective and individual conception of rural residents. Age,education,working,family habitation are verified as effective influence factors. This paper briefly discusses the reasons in the view of sociology. A basic conclusion is drawn out in the fourth part, in which the author briefly analyze the background of status of collective and individual conception of rural residents, further discuss the value of subject of the study, and point out the disadvantage of the study.
