The Research On The Crises Management In Higher Educational Institutions In China

Higher educational institutions are populous places, with most of the undergraduates being around 20, who are sensitive, enthusiastic and attentive to social affairs and highly uniform in interests. The peculiarity of the main body in higher educational institutions determines that the campus becomes the place of various crises. Especially with the achievement of the purpose of popularizing higher education, the number of the college students is on the rise rapidly, and the management of the higher educational institutions cannot meet the requirements, which results in the frequent occurrences of crises. Besides, our society is at the turning point, and many social problems are reflected, leading to crises in universities easily.The crises management in higher educational institutions refers to these occurrences, which disturb the normal teaching and managing order in carrying out daily tasks, threaten the lives of teachers and students, and break out suddenly because of the external important incidents or internal unexpected reasons under normal circumstances. The disposal of these incidents belongs to the crises management in higher educational institutions. According to the characteristics of unexpected occurrences, menace, urgency and sociality, the probable crises on the campus are roughly classified into four groups: first, public health occurrence; second, political sensitive incidents affecting the stability of the universities; third, incidents affecting public security; forth, natural disasters (such as flood and earthquakes).The research on the crises management in higher educational institutions belongs to the group of practical and applicable research; as a result, the emphases are laid upon the establishment of all kinds of preliminary projects and pre-warning mechanism. Based on the relational theories of crises management and in combination with the characteristics of higher educational institutions, four groups of preliminary projects are constituted, which are The Preliminary Project of the Preventions and the Control of the Outburst of Infectious Diseases, The Preliminary Project against the Political Sensitive Incidents Affecting the Stability on the Campus, The Preliminary Project against Natural Disasters, and The Preliminary Project Preventing Judicial Cases Concerning Social Order on the Campus. The four preliminary projects probe into the organization of the crises management system on the practical level.
