Serious teaching is not appropriate for the development of the tide, especially Chinese teaching. So, it is urgent to add some excitement to Chinese class. Humorous teaching just meets this demand.This article states the definition, essence, characters and functions theoretically and practically. It also discusses how the teaching humor is formed and how it is used tactfully in class teaching. Five parts are included.It starts with quotations, then the boring teaching. in some Chinese classes which leads to low teaching efficiency and about the urgency of using humorous teaching.The second part indicates the definition of Chinese teachers' teaching humor. Chinese teaching humor is a kind of humor which is used by the Chinese teachers according to the teaching materials, teaching tasks and specific teaching situation. Chinese teachers use brief, interesting, meaningful and theoretical expressions and movements to improve the students' interests in study, to let them pay attention to the study contents, to inspire their study motivation and to arose their intelligence. Besides, it also indicates its essence, characters and functions. Chinese teachers' teaching humor can be educational, beautiful, quick-witted, implicit, awaken and interesting. Chinese teachers' teaching humor can help students get rid of tiredness, draw their attention, inspire their interest and craving for knowledge. It can make classes lively and help students understand knowledge and keep them in mind. It can also qualify good personality of the students, connect teachers with students so as to improve the teachers professional enthusiasm and figure out the vivid image of goodChinese teachers.The third part analyses how the humor is formed. That' s the presupposition, namely the teachers should have good mood;the base, namely learned;the appearance, namely wise speech;the helper namely suitable body movement;the guarantee, namely quick-wit;the motive force, namely creativity.The fourth part probes into four aspects of how to use the humor. Firstly, the requirement of using it is to understand the essence of teaching humor, the structure of teaching humor and how to make laughter. Teachers can collect humorous materials now and then, know some skills of using humor, complete with creative ability. Don' t waste the best moment to use humor and be natural. Secondly, the proper moment of using teaching humor is when meeting with difficulties, or in accidents, or when dealing with the teachers' mistake, of course in classroom instruction teachers can use teaching humor properly. Thirdly, the method of using Chinese teachers' teaching humor. The common ways are metaphor, exaggerate, pun, two-part allegorical saying, mistaken, contradiction, making fun of oneself, intentional pause and suspense. Fourthly, the points of attention when using teaching humor. Chinese teachers should be honest. They should understand the students well, the substance of humor should be healthy and refined. It must serve for the teaching, take advantage of the best moment, strive for creativity and express naturally.Finally the conclusion. It summarizes the structure and contents of the article and makes an extension.
