The two countries, China and Japan, are close neighbours seperated only by a strip of water.In modern times, they were invaded by the west civilation and the challages of outside dint made them embarked on the road to modernization. During the course of their mordernization, the intraducation of new education and establishmen and development of new style school, which lead a important role and comprised component parts of their mordernization, produced great influences on the derelopments of two countries.The paper centres on the new educational development of China and Japan in late qing dynasty peoried and new style school education and makes a comparative study on three aspects.First, the paper make a general survey of developmental course of new education in China and Japan in late qing dynasty and grasps the developments of new education in the two countries, the modern education quickly embarked on a special road to development and laid strong foundation for modern economic development of Japan after experiencing experiments so that Japan rapidly break away from back wardness and embarked on the road to prosperity and strength. However, the new education of China experiemed a very difficult press,in which Qing government, a unconsciously acting as the historical tool,finished transition from classical education to modern education and reail to step into the developmental path of modern education. Second, The papermakes a comparation on new educational policy ---the formationand influence of modern school system.
