In 1988, former President Jiang Zemin pointed out, "Innovation is soulof national progress, and endless motive force of social flourishing."Currently, many countries has put great emphasis on innovative educationand made significant breakthroughs on it, while it is still on initial stage inChina. Traditional education in our country is basically characterized byinstilling knowledge, devitalizing young people's creativity. Therefore, itis a serious task of education how to carry out quality education to fosterstudents' creativity. As creative thought is the core of creativity, it is aserious problem how we should cultivate creative thought of students inteaching.Creative education firstly depends on teachers with creative ideas. Thecreation of teachers with creative ideas. The creation of teachers should betrained before they are professional. Due to the significant role of studentsin secondary teachers' school, who are teachers of primary schools in thefuture, it is vital to cultivate their creative thought. It is worthwhile tostudy how to cultivate creative thought in biology teaching practice,combining it with the characteristics of the students and the course.Starting with the nature of creative thought, based on theSelf-Organization Theory, the thesis has made an initial inquiry offostering creative thought in biology teaching. According to theSelf-Organization Theory, creative thought is a system of self-organization.We put forward the following teaching strategies in biology teaching, inlight of creative thought, the characteristics of biology and students'cognition. To establish a favorable environment for cultivation of creativethought. To foster extensive study interest of students in order to opentheir thought system. To cultivate flexible thinking ways. Give full play tothe role of multi-media to change class organization forms.In order to verify the validity of the adopted teaching Strategy,comparative experiments have designed and carried out. A term ofexperimental research verifies that the teaching strategy not only helps tofoster study interest of students, but also is conducive to cultivate theircreative thought, enhance their creativity and their scores.
