Gender goal refers to the certain sex individual who occupies appropriatelocation in the society and groups;or the behavior model which is stipulated by thesociety and groups.Achievement goal theory, as one of the achievement motivation theory, hasdeveloped the deeper layer. In the goal theory, achievement goal refers to the reasonwhich individuals participate achievement activities in order to get or reach valuableresults or purposes. Academic achievements are one of the target which measuresstudents' academic adjustment and reflect students' study effects or the ability ofmastering knowledge. Academic achievements are influenced by many factors suchas gender role and achievement goal. Meanwhile, gender goal influences seekingachievement goal as well.This study analyzes relationships among gender role, achievement goals andacademic achievement of nursing students in vocational school. To use BSRI andButtton's goal inclination questionnaire which is revised by Xu Fangzhong inZhejiang University to investigate and make a study of nursing students in vocationalschool and students in secondary school. Academic achievements measures throughend-of-term tests.We get three conclusions:(1) Masculinity of nursing students in vocational school is significantlylower or femininity of nursing students in vocational school issignificantly higher than that of boys in secondary school;Masculinity ofnursing students in vocational school is significantly higher than that ofgirls in secondary school. There is no significant difference in femininitybetween girls in secondary school and nursing students in vocationalschool. There are no significant difference between nursing students invocational school and boys in secondary school in gender role typeswhile there are significant difference between nursing students invocational school and girls in secondary school which shows nursingstudents in vocational school whose masculinity proportion (19.7%) ishigher than those of girls in secondary school(8.7%), while femininityproportion(17.9%) is lower than those of girls in secondaryschool(38.0%).(2) There are significant difference in academic goals and study goals amongnursing students in vocational school, boys and girls in secondary schoolwhich shows academic goals and study goals of nursing students invocational school are significantly higher than that of boys and girls insecondary school.(3) â‘ There are significant positive correlation among masculinity andacademic goals of nursing students in vocational school, no significantcorrelation with academic goals and academic achievement. There aresignificant positive correlation between femininity and academic goals,study goals in nursing students in vocational school, no significantcorrelation with academic achievement;There are no significantcorrelation between academic goals, study goals and academicachievement. There are no significant difference in academicachievement in 4-gender-role types of nursing students in vocationalschool while there are significant difference between academic goals andstudy goals.â‘¡There are significant positive correlation among masculinity and studygoals in boys of secondary school while there are no significant correlation withacademic goals and academic achievement. There are significant positive correlationamong femininity, academic goals and study goals in girls of secondary school whilethere are no significant correlation with academic achievements. There are nosignificantcorrelation between academic goals and study goals while there are significantpositive correlation between study goals and academic achievement.There are no significant difference in academic achievement andacademic goals in 4-gender-role types of boys of secondary school whilethere are significant difference in study goals.â‘¢There are no significant correlation among masculinity ,femininity andacademic goals ,study goals and academic achievement in girls ofsecondary school. There are no significant correlation between studygoals , academic goals and academic achievement in girls of secondaryschool. There are no significant difference in academic achievement ,academic goals and study goals in 4-gender-role types of girls ofsecondary school.Finally, this study propose three suggests from gender role, achievement goaland female psychology, esp. from the side of nursing students in vocational school.
