The primary science course is arranged as a kind of integrated curriculum and acts animportant part in primary curriculum system since the Curriculum Reform of China. Theprimary science course takes on the responsibility of training students with scientific diathesis.Along with the implementation of the Curriculum Reform, the teachers of science coursebecome the focus of many experts.This paper tries to discuss the problem of the changes of teachers' role from the point ofthe Role Theoretics. The Role Theoretics considers that social role is the individual behavioralmode that fit for social requirements, the dynamic representation of social status, and socialstatus is the quiescent description of social role, the symbolization of some definite rights andduties. He who has definite social status and acts as definite social role must behave accordingwith the behavioral criterion of social role, so he must possess corresponding role diathesis.Because social role has the characteristic of open, along with the changes of socialrequirements, social role itself, behavioral criterion of social role and role diathesis willchange correspondingly to fit for the requirements of social developments.The Curriculum Reform embodies the requirements of education reform which fit forsocial development. Under the background of the Curriculum Reform, the teacher's role ofprimary science course must be changed greatly. The author compares the actual curriculumcriterion of primary science course with former teaching outline of primary nature course.And then discusses the role criterion should obey and analyze the teacher's role that theprimary science teachers should have. On the basis of analyzing the main factors thatinfluencing the changes of teacher's role for primary science teacher, the author puts forwardsome useful suggestions and strategies to help actualizing the changes of primary sciencecourse teacher's role and carrying out science course in class.
