Transforming the new educational ideas advocated in the reform of the syllabus for basic education into actual leaching practice is a long-term and difficult task. The inadaptability of the old ideas, the divisions and patterns of cooperative teaching is uncovered as the variation of the syllabus progresses, hence the necessity of reshaping the concept of cooperative teaching, enriching and perfecting the function and the pattern of it currently practiced in elementary and secondary schools, and initiating new pattern of cooperative teaching that can help the academic growth of the teachers. New ways of the teachers' academic growth in the teamwork teaching model with the new syllabus as the guideline stem right from mutual help, resource share and co-development. This thesis probes into the theoretical significance of cooperative teaching using the way of practical research. The cooperative teaching enriches the content and connotation of teaching practice and bases a solid foundation for the future teaching. The practical meaning of it lies in that it can realize the resource share by the interaction, cooperation and exchange among teachers, headmasters and experts. It can also solve the practical problems teachers meet in actual teaching practice and improve the efficiency. Moreover, it can prompt schools to improve the quality of teaching and development of schools, and it is the important support for developing distinguishing features of schools. Through research the pattern of cooperative teaching is designed. The teaching practice and the teachers experience, the dialogues they exchange and the thoughts they extract unveil some certain rule in the teachers' academic growth.
