Linda Darling-Hammond, Professor at Stanford University, an outstanding educationalist and education policy analyst, is the leading expert who guides the reform of teacher education specialization in US, and her thoughts on teacher education can be used as reference for the reform happening in China. This paper begins with the introduction of the studying career, which involves three phases of development of her pedagogical thoughts, focusing on the important reform organizations which she has been engaged in. Then her ideas on school reform, student, and equality has been summarized, while pursuing the theoretical foundation including John Dewey's Pragmatism and Democratic pedagogical ideas. Professor Hammond's ideas on teacher education will be expounded on stress, consisting of teachers' professional skills, teacher preparation, professional development, teaching as a democratic profession, influencing factor on education reform. The significance and influence of Hammond's educational research and practice and the organizations have been analyzed in the next part. In the conclusion, this paper gives three characteristics of Hammond's pedagogical ideas and practice and summarizes the reference which it enlightens China's teacher education reform at the turning point.
