People live for happiness, which is the instinct requirement oflife, permanent aspiration and expectation of human being and thepurpose and goal of life as well. But the modernity pioneered byinitiation thought has become the model of human being in modern society.And initiation thought shows that man's potential is creativeinfinitively so that man can change nature, society and human beingitself continuously. That's why progress and development becomeseverlasting goal of human being. Pursuing property has not only beenthe goal of government but also the measurement of personal value sothat man has been the slave of property and the society is dominatedby having ones' full swing and striving for benefit. Life significancehas been equivalent of currency, house and car. Labor dissimilationeven exceeds that in the period of capitalist original accumulation.The significance of human being has been lost completely and thehappiness has become the luxury which is visible but untouchable.Why is happiness further and further from us while we are afterit? The writer of the paper believes man's guidance leads tounhappiness. Man is dominated by self-origination and controlled bydesire, thinking happiness is satisfaction of desire and acquisitionof most benefit. The incorrect concept leads to illiberal aspirationso that man is bothered endlessly and misses happiness.The author's idea is that basic material requirement andsatisfaction of desire are the basis of life and the basic conditionof acquiring happiness but not happiness itself. The greediness is thehell. When man's aspiration is excessive, nous is weakened. That'sso-called one is blinded by lust for money and greediness leads to sinand lech is equivalent of pain. Therefore, we should exam desirecarefully and control the desire, getting rid of unreasonable andharmful desire, developing the desire which is elegant and helpful toone's life and society so that the desire leads us to happiness incorrect way.Everyone needs some benefit in his life and is restricted bypractical benefit. Only if loaves and fishes are materialized, thebasic requirement of human being is satisfied, the non-material benefitlike happiness may come true gradually. Therefore, benefit is thesignificant because it is the carrier, the condition to materializelife goal, the means to achieve happy life, though it is not happinessitself.Morality is the premise of materialization of happiness. Dharmais the prerequisite of man's happiness and the source of man'shappiness as well. So, dharma can be regarded as part of happiness.Happiness is benefiting others instead of benefiting self, offeringinstead of acquisition, acquisition of heart tranquility and harmonywith nature and others by means of morality upgrading andself-improving instead of maximum of self-benefit and control andpossession of others and properties. It is impossible for one to acquiremost happiness if he strives only for self benefit without superego.The more noble one's behavior is, the more helpful he is for othersand society, the higher his personal value is, the more happiness hecan acquire.One cannot acquire happiness unless he acts as a noble man. Oneshould share correct thought to be a noble man while forming of correctconcept is closely concerned with forming value guidance of the wholesociety. Traditional Chinese culture represented by Confucianism isthe intelligence achievement of Chinese nation. Numerous moral mottosform the style of the vast country and national grand and positive trend,namely self-conscious morality of self-conscious benefiting others andconstantly to become stronger, consciousness of social mission suchas making peace for generations and considering the future beforeothers. Therefore, all of us both personal and society should establishcorrect ideal concept guided by excellent traditional Chinese culture.In the view point of Confucian, real knowledge is to learn how to bea man. From the view point of philosophy, the period of learning isnecessary to be a man. That is, learning how to be a man meansimprovement of morality, establishment of personality and upgradingin spiritual category. Confucian's learning means self moralrefinement while Confucian's knowledge is saint's knowledge whichfocuses on a man how to develop dharma and improve personality. Thereis a Confucian's saying: ancient scholars work for improvingthemselves while present scholars work for matching others. Theso-called improving themselves is self-improvement orself-fulfillment while for matching others is to acquire externaladmiration by means of matching others. Life significance or value iswithin oneself instead of outside himself. Making this value come trueis one's own business or self-behavior by one's own practice insteadof matching others. That's why Confucians regard self-improvement asa do-or-not-do question instead of can-or-cannot question. That's theso-called kindness is here if you want to be kind. Confucians'self-improvement is an intention approach of self-discipline andbecoming a saint instead of matching-others approach of fame and gain.What's more, it is development of man's internal value ofself-improvement and settling down and getting on with one's pursuit;it is affirmation of independence spirit and self-origination beyondthe control of external fame and gain. The final goal of cultivating oneself, morality improvementand personality completion is self-improvement, materializationmental and physical harmony and mutual harmony, which finally reachthe top frame of mind, namely harmony between man and society.Everyone's happiness is closely concerned with society, whichplays an important role in reaching man's happiness. Society is liableto upgrade man's moral standard and promote happiness of the wholesociety by means of education besides establishing correct valueguidance. Such a saying is quoted from About Courtesy and About Studyas education is primary among country building, army building and dailylife. That shows education is primary of a state. The purpose ofeducation is to develop a man while a man lives for happiness. Therefore,the final purpose of education is to teach a man how to be a man andhow to do things to promote all-round harmonious development of manmentally and physically so that man acquires happiness.In recent years,society encounters various changes and impacts so that people stresscarrier intention and weaken human being intention. That results inmany so-called flat man by western scholars, namely man without idealload, value standard, soul, intelligence, pursuing significance,believing permanence, but pursuing simple stimulating of sense organs.This obviously runs counter to real happiness of man. Therefore, thegoal of moral education, even the whole education is to help man acquirecorrect concept and ability to reach happiness. Now that happiness isthe realization of being a man, then, one who understands thesignificance and nature of life more will acquire happiness and qualityhappiness possibly. Upgrading life pursuit is the premise to upgradehappiness level. In the mean time, society system needs continuousimproving and optimizing so as to promote harmony of happiness andmorality. In this way, immoral behavior will be regarded as unadvisablebehavior so that immoral behavior will be reduced and eliminatedgradually while man's happiness is guaranteed and promoted.This thesis focuses on analyzing the reason of minus happinesspsychologically. The writer believes man's significance can berealized by means of self-discipline, morality improvement,personality improvement, getting rid of self-centered intention andeliminating confrontation between self and others in thenon-self-centered environment. In this way, psychological tranquilitycan be reached and top and most happiness can be acquired.
