Master of Engineering (MEng) is a product which came into being by technology progress, engineering practice and market requirement, also is a result of engineering education paradigm transforms. Reference to the experience of developed countries, as the first professional degree in engineering, MEng will replace the bachelor, associating with the professional accreditation system and the occupation entering system. As accreditation is an effective institutional guarantee. Hence to establish an accreditation system with international view and local background in our high engineering education domain becomes extremely essential and urgent.In this paper, the author identifies the related terminology in the accreditation of MEng professional degree. Basing on the analysis and discussion of American /European Union's situation and the domestic engineering practice, taking the accreditation system as concrete research object, the author establishes an accreditation model for Chinese MEng to aim at the significant subject -MEng quality, analysing and discussing influence factors of this accreditation model, and bringing forward the characteristic for setting up the accreditation model.The author puts forward an accreditation model of MEng which has the close relation with Chinese and international situation, embody the requirement of engineering education by the social development in the future. In this paper, the author hopes that more rational consideration to be given in the quality of MEng professional degree and progress be made in the practice of MEng accreditation.
