Research of education has experenced several boom periods since 1978 in China. As to research of basic-education reformation,there are three periods with research method as the standard.They are three axes-ages centred by educational experiment research,educational action research,and educational qulitative research.At the end of 1970s and the beginning of 1980s,professional researchers called on educational research with scentific diciplines as the criterion to change the tendency of ignorring serious researches in educational decision-making and teaching reformation.From then on,experiment had been playing the main role till the end of 1980s.At the end of 1980s and in the middle of 1990s,professional researchers advocated action researching to answer the condemnation of break between theory and practice.It is the silver age of educational action research.At the end of 20th century,with reflection of "paradigm",professional researchers suggested qualitative method in educational research.From that time on,qualitative educational research has soarred.Experiment research corresponds to scientificism(positivism),while qualitative research corresponds to humanism(interpreticism).We should acknowledge their respective value,with the open-mind spirit of action research as direction.The analysis of relationship between professional researchers and actual practitioners remind the significance of respecting each other.
