A Study Of The Distinctiveness's Development Of Regional Universities And Colleges

Having defined the meaning and components of distinctiveness and discussed its necessity, this paper, from niche's point of view, applying the theories of pedagogy, sociology, biology, economics, puts forward that regional universities and colleges can develop their own distinctiveness by serving the region. This paper also studies the distinctiveness of regional universities and colleges in China after analyzing its background and the experiences of counterparts in other countries.The main part of the paper focuses on the rational reflection on how to develop the distinctiveness of regional universities and colleges by case study on the colleges of Jiang Xi Province. And it adopts the methods of documentation method, expert meeting method, comparative method and case study method. Finally, it proposes several suggestions from the elements of teaching, research and service.
