As an important part of teaching research system, school-based teaching research is the process for teachers in primary school and high school to study the problems in his/her teaching or school's progressing activities .The ultimate purpose of the school-based teaching research is to promote student's full-scale development. Teachers can think over by themselves, help each other or have advice from professors until they settle the problems. Today's school-based teaching research in basic education is short of institutional criterion and not really focus on the problems in school's teaching activities.Following the thread that combine history with logic, this thesis discusses the value, characteristic, structure of school-based teaching research and investigate the practice in primary school and high school. I bring up the validity standard for school- based teaching research, such as humanism, grass-root, progress and institution, in order to instruct practice in primary school and high school.
