Cooperation should be strengthened between home and school, which has become an important component of school reform, as well as a hot topic in educational studies nowadays. Based on studies about home-school cooperation, and theories on family and school education, this paper investigates by means of questionaires and explores the current situation of home-school cooperation in Suzhou elementary schools, and provides several suggestions at the end.As a result of statistics, current situation of home-school cooperation is characterized by the following points: more home-based involvement but less school-based involvement, more academic-oriented cooperation but less other aspects, low levels of cooperation, less efficiency, imperfection of cooperation system as well as less social involvement. As such, in order to build up close cooperation between home and school, the paper provides following suggestions: firstly, families and educators should cherish scientific cooperation beliefs; secondly, more efforts should be paid to set up close cooperation system; thirdly, more school-based studies should be carried out in order to establish multi-cultural cooperation models; lastly, learning home and communities should be developed gradually.
