A Study On The Status Of Convergence Between Sports Teaching In Secondary Schools And Universities In Jiangsu Province

Teaching of physical education at all stages is a relatively stable, orderly and inseparable whole. As there is no uniform requirements and provisions for the degree of convergence and coordination development in various stages of physical education, the teaching missions in various stages from high school to university became the a "debt-repaying" reduplicate teaching, which is digressive form the current principle of "health education" and "lifelong sports" advanced by the Ministry of Education. In Jiangsu province as China's economically developed areas and a great education province, sports education in the entire education system occupies an important position. In such cases, doing well with the work of physical education convergence between universities and high schools is a key element in the reform of university physical education and will be of practical significance for the future reform and development of physical education in Jiangsu.The findings of this thesis show: (1) In the implementation of the Standards and the Outline in Jiangsu Province secondary schools and universities have carried out a series of education reforms, but in the course of reform, there have been problems and difficulties. (2) With the overall design of the curriculum, sports teaching in secondary schools failed to properly accomplish the basic sports teaching, somehow different form the overall scheme designed by the Ministry of Education. (3) For the structure of teacher, there is a basic convergence in the academic structure and teaching titles between teachers in secondary schools and universities while for the teaching force there is a gap. Secondary schools lack professional teachers for new sports courses and universities also lack professional teachers in some new sports courses which caused limits for the choice of students.
