As one of the earliest subject, geometry has a very long history. Because of it's variety in geometric characters, geometry is more varied than other parts of mathematics if it is the most unvaried subject in elementary school and high school.. And these characters make geometry have numerous educational value. So, geometry is very useful in raising students' thinking ability and culture diathesis. Because of this, geometry is hard to be replaced by other courses.In this article, according to the new curriculum criterion, the geometry part of mathematics teaching material which published by Beijing normal university and the education value of geometry, I investigate students' space idea, logic ability and geometry language formulation on the basis of researches about the difficulties of mathematics and geometry study, students' mathematics thinking trait and Van Hiele geometry thinking level. In this investigation, I used some methods including questionnaire, test and interview.According to the analysis of the investigation result, I find out some problems: (1) Students' comprehension to the concepts and theorems are superficial, they do not know the concepts and theorems very well. (2)The students frightened geometry proofs. They do not know how to do, what to do, and they don't know which step is the end. (3)The students' knowledge lacks the essential relation. So, they can not remember concepts, formulae and theorems. (4)Development of the students' space idea fall behind in development of intelligence. (5)The students can not transform one into another easily among graphic language, literal language and symbolic language. (6)The students substitute illogical deduction for logical deduction. (7)The students do not resolve problems actively, their "mathematics problem resolve" consciousness are weak. They have no idea when they confront the test questions which need assistant line. And they can not draw inferences from one instance to another.On the basis of the investigation, I analyze the reason of above problems from the teaching material, the teachers and the students.According to other data, including literature data, interview to the teachers and questionnaires to the teacher, linking to the elementary school students' mathematics thinking development regulation and some of my own understanding, I put forward some viewpoints about plane geometry teaching in junior high school on the basis of analysis to the investigation results: The first, we should pay attention to student's geometry language; The second, we should pay attention to deduction and reasoning in plane geometry teaching; The third, we should pay attention to the development of students' space idea; At last, varied teaching should be developed in junior school.
