Green chemistry is a kind of science which can prevent pollution from the source and it can save energy as much as possible and limit the pollution effectively. In addition, green chemistry can develop going with economic, energy sources, ecosystem, environment and society. Correcting the wrong idea, which emphasizes on the management after pollution, it pays more attention on the preventing before pollution, which is because managing pollution that costs lots of money can't settle the environmental problem fundamentally. Preventing pollution from the source is the essential way of protecting the environment. This thesis analyzes the content of the course and experiment of inorganic chemistry in secondary vocational schools and finds that we almost can't find any content of green chemistry at all in the inorganic chemistry books for the students of the secondary vocational schools except a few words about protecting the environment which occupies poor proportion and offers dismoded information; Even the experiments can't embody the idea of green chemistry. Chemical medicines are wasted seriously and the poisonous product can't be treated availably. In this research we also investigates the attitude towards green chemistry among 400 students and 50 teachers withquestionnaires in three secondary vocational schools in the west of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and the result indicates that they can't be aware of the importance of green chemistry. All these factors suggest that we should strengthen green chemistry education in teaching in secondary vocational schools. In this thesis the origin, conception and development of green chemistry are introduced. And it points out that the target of green chemistry education to foster the students' green consciousness, make the students pay more attention on health and environment so that we can prevent pollution from the source. Green chemistry embodies the idea of continuable and general development of people, so strengthening green chemistry education in teaching in secondary vocational schools is necessary.Using the idea of green chemistry, we integrate the content of inorganic chemistry in secondary vocational schools with basic knowledge of resources, environment and other green chemistry, and bring out some exercises of green chemistry, put forward some teaching methods, such as extracurricular experiment, visiting, researchful learning, modern educational technology, to strengthen green chemistry education. We also give the principles of green chemistry experiments and use these principles to assess the 96 experiments in the books used by the students in secondary vocational schools, point out the deficiency and improve six of them. In addition, we modify the teaching program with green idea and turn environment-protecting knowledge, whichoccupy 1.9% of the content, into green chemistry knowledge, which occupy 7.5% of the content. Our research suggests that inorganic chemistry teaching in secondary vocational schools is one of the effective methods developing green chemistry education. This research just deals with one part of green chemistry education and we expect that it can attract more people who major in chemistry and education going into the research of green chemistry education and turn the green chemistry education in secondary vocational schools into reality.
