Research On Achievements, Problems And Strategies Of Establishment Of Model High School In Gansu Province

The establishment of model high schools is a strategy of twenty-first century in our country to strengthen and flourish our basic education, which is of great magnificence for the purpose of carrying out quality-centered education as well as accelerating development and reform of basic education including promoting the development of high school.The establishment of model high school in some way does play an active role in the field of education, however, there exist some problems which need to be settled as well as weak sides to be strengthened. Based on careful investigation and research, this paper with subjects of normal high schools in Gansu province formulates the obvious achievements in the promotion of the development of school, together with improvement of regional education and balanced development as well as meeting the social demands of good quality education and supplying opportunities for different schools. Besides these great achievements, this paper also points out the problems in the program of establishment of model high schools such as overemphasis building and equipment of school and overlooking the quality of teaching; failure of demonstration from model high school and unfair judge in the process of assessment and so on.For these present situation and problems in the process of establishing model high school, some strategies on how to establish model high school are put forward in this paper. First, the characters of normal high school should be fully and correctly understood. Secondly, the task of normal high school should be carried out. Thirdly, comprehensive development of school should be emphasized, especially the promotion of teaching quality. Fourthly, the demonstration of model high school should be displayed actively. Fifthly, compulsory mission of accelerating the development of regional education should be fully performed. Sixthly, the guidance and administration of the establishment of model high schools should be strengthened. And finally assessment and inspection should be well performed.
