A Study On The Achievements,Problems And Countermeasures Of Constructing The National Model Higher Vocational Colleges

After the past ten years'rapid development, higher vocational education of China has occupied the half country of higher education in terms of scale, and it is just in the crucial period from scale expansion to connotation construction. Therefore, some higher vocational colleges that have advanced idea and obvious characteristics are needed urgently to walk in ahead to explore in practice and be the model of development and the pioneer of innovation so that become a batch of higher vocational colleges that represent the leading level of the nation, even of the world, which persistently guide the higher vocational colleges of China to develop healthily. To this end, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance start officially the "project 211 "of higher vocational education——the plan of constructing the national model higher vocational colleges in 2006. It aims at improving their ability in running school, in the quality of teaching, in the level of management, in the efficiency and the radiation capability by emphasizing on supporting 100 higher vocational colleges, so that they can play a real model role to promote the innovation and development of higher vocational education and could do a better job in economic construction and social development. Ultimately they will become the model of development, of the innovation, of the management. The paper took the national model higher vocational colleges of Hunan province as the research object. By the investigation on three of them, the writer knew the current situation of the model higher vocational colleges of Hunan province, summarize their great achievements in the construction process, find out the problems that still existed. At the same time, the writer brought forward some individual proposals on the construction thoughts and countermeasures, which may be helpful to the construction of the model higher vocational colleges and other ordinary higher vocational colleges. This paper has five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, mainly introduces the research origin,the status quo of research at home and abroad,the significance and research methods, which set the stage for the following chapters.The second chapter mainly introduces some relevant theories that includes the definition of core concepts, the goal and task of the construction of model higher vocational colleges, and the standard analysis of model higher vocational college.The third chapter mainly discusses the achievements of the construction of model higher vocational colleges of Hunan province.The forth chapter mainly analyzes the investigation results and existing problems of the construction of model higher vocational colleges of Hunan province.The fifth chapter mainly brought forward some countermeasures according to the problems that need to be resolved. The model higher vocational colleges will constantly perfect themselves by constructing specialty group,long-term mechanism of the cooperation between school and enterprises,high-standard faculty, and reforming the practice teaching, and improving the ability of serving society, so as to promote the development of the whole higher vocational education.
