Task-based Approach is the basic way to put into effect the goals of New EnglishCurriculum Standards , which is widely carried on all around the country, however , it alsoencounters manyproblems in practical teaching. Before solvingproblems, this thesis tells thetheories of curriculum classification .Curriculum goals are the first time to be included in thecurriculumpapers,focusingonfivestructuresthatarethreevalues-oriented.How to put curriculum papers into action is crucial if three values-oriented want to beachieved .The effective implementation of Task-based Approach is the decisive factor forcurriculum goals. This thesis makes a general summary about the task- based Approach, anddiscusses the practical teaching from three aspects. Firstly, it concerns the environment ofChinese students learning English and furthermore draws conclusions that their major wayoflearning English should integrate both learning and acquiring. Secondly, the learning cultureof Task-based Approach is different from that of traditional one, the former is output culture,whereas,thelatterisinputculture.Andthenitpointsoutthatwe'dbetterhandletherelationbetweenlanguageformsandlanguagemeaningsrationally,theyare consistentinseparably.According to the analysis above as well as combining the author's observation in class,two investigations are carried out. Reasons are discussed and countermeasures are offeredbased on the problems. There are five solutions:(1) in the process of designingtasks,teachersshouldhaveawholeanalysistothestudents'personalitiesandconfidence (2)in the process of designing tasks , teachers should have a whole analysis to the students'cognitive abilities. (3) in the process of designing tasks, using the experience of Skehan'smodeofTask-basedApproach,makingitmoreadaptabletoChineseteachingenvironment,inwhichtheauthormixesSkehan'smodeandherownunderstandingofteachingtexts.What'smore , a real teaching case with the name of Earthquakes is presented, so as to illustrate theauthor's philosophyinterms oftask-based approach.(4)MakingasuitablelinkbetweentheTask-based Approach and current Chinese college exam (5) Organizing the activities asregard to the teachers'training, in order to improve their abilities and selecting the newexcellentgraduatesaswellassettingupacheck-upsystemtotheoldteachers.
