College students are the national precious talented person resources, the hope of motherland and the future of nationality. That's why their ideology politics quality and moral sentiment will directly play an important role in relation to the success of socialism cause and development & prosperity of our country's Economy, Politics and Society. Therefore, since the 16th Congress, Central Party Committee and the State Council have regarded further strengthening and improving ideology education and quality of college students, nurturing their noble moral sentiment and training them into eligible socialism constructors and successors as the great project during the new century era. College ideology politics theory course is a required one, which is always thought as main base and position of theoretical education to cultivate young people scientific worldview, life view and value view. It is also the essential characteristic of Socialism College. Students of higher vocational college are the main parts of human resources of our country. They will be the important constituent and new force of future production, construction and management. This article focuses on such aspects as followed: ideology situation, cognition and attitude of students from higher vocational college; actual effect of ideology politics course and bring the function of this course into practical play.The first part mainly elaborated the character of this course and its status and function. With both politics and ideology & moral educational character, this course displays foundationally "nurturing the person" function, thus it possess unique function in fostering students' political thinking idea, firm ideal faith, good occupational ethics as well as perfect personality, which any other disciplines cannot be substituted.The second part points out students' overall politics quality condition, understanding and attitude from the analysis of questionnaires. Although most students with better political quality hold the affirmation manner to this course, they show extreme utility tendency and worse classroom performance. Students demand course reform extremely and request teachers' quality of this course, teaching contents, teaching methods and so on.The third part thoroughly analyzed the influential causes of students' politics quality and actual effect.
