Pushed forward by curriculum reform, history teachers in middle schools have begun to resume the process of history teaching and redefine the role of history teachers. They give classroom activity a central position to promote new curricula and take an active part in carrying out new teaching methodsWith the advancing of new criculuum reform, more and more attention is paid to dialogue teaching by history teachers in middle school.Compared with traditional teaching method, dialogue teaching abides by principles and methods of educational reform and tries to serve its aims. It is characteristicly different from traditionally instructive teaching method in aspects as follows,Firstly, it's democratic and equal;Secondly, it's communicative and cooperative;Thirdly, it's interpersonal and interactiveFouthly, it's creative and productive.The value of dialugue teaching in history teaching in middle schools lies in the realisation and care of the students' leading role and individual differences. It focuses on academic and emotional interactivity between teachers and students as well as the significance of perfecting students' personality through productive teaching.The practice of dialogue teaching in middle school history consists of two kinds, namely lingual dialogue aimed at getting historical knowledge and developing basic learning ability, the other being emotionally communicative dialogue and that seeking for the truth of history in order to accumulate understanding towards life and thus improve their quality.Practice shows that dialogue teaching has profound significance in that it helps to develop students' self-reliance and personality and promotes teacher development.
