With the complete implement of "the New Standard of Curriculum", Our teachers again are facing a new challenge of reforming and improving the teaching methods. The New Standard of Curriculum" has advocate the way of self-dominated study, cooperative study and exploring study. Students are the subject of study and development. The Chinese course must pay close attention to the students' variety needs for study and the individual difference.Try to protect their sense of curiosity and seeking for knowledge so that the students' initiative, cooperative and exploring spirit can be well promoted according to the characteristic of Chinese lessons and the students' mental and physical development. The choice of what to teach; how to teach and how to comment will surly influence the formation of the students' method of study. The comprehensive study of Chinese lessons will help students gain the talent for Chinese in their own self-dominated interesting activities. Chinese lesson is basically a practicing lesson which enable the students capability to practice and apply Chinese.And the best way to help students gain the capability is practicing the language; instead of letting them have the full systematic knowledge of the Chinese language. This is the frame theory in present Chinese teaching. How should a teacher have a perfect understanding of the theory and carry out them? In my opinion we don't have to do the pains-taking job to research the theory but master its highlights. that is to teach the students in accordance with their aptitude. If you do like this you don't have to worry about the timely completion of the basic curriculum schedule. The theory of "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude" has long been proved practical in Chinese teaching history. Why can't we apply our forefather's practical theory to train our students to reach the same requirements instead of spending too much time to study the new theory. This practical theory, which is known to all, was set forth by the great educator Confucius who created many teaching method such as "teaching without discrimination"; 'elicitation method of teaching"; "reviewing the past helps one to understand the present."; "combination of study and thinking" etc. Among them, I think, the most important and easiest to apply is the method of "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude" This essay aims to make a systematic study of the method in all aspects and compares it with the present idea about teaching Chinese, so that we can more properly apply the "New criterion for curriculum" in practice.
