| Based on the analysis of core spirit in aesthetic education, the paper reviews the development in the History of Chinese & Western Aesthetic Education, appraises and affirms the theoretical values of Chinese & Western Aesthetic Education, and finally points out the essence of Contemporary Aesthetic Education and significance to implement it in real society. Aesthetic Education is regarded as an important way individuals develop and cultivate their characters harmoniously and socially. Therefore, the thought wielding Chinese and Western aesthetic education builds article to structure of harmonious society carries out the real thinking; discusses the importance of Aesthetic Education in promoting harmony in oneself, between man and man, between man and society and between man and the nature, on the basis of the exposition of its functions.
