Studies On Higher Agricultural Undergraduates Fostering To Develop Modern Agriculture

The development of Chinese modem agriculture is in urgent need of a school of advanced talents who possess modem concepts, meanwhile have commanded advanced scientific technology and willing to devote themselves to the cause of the contribution of modem agriculture. Higher Agriculture Academy shoulders the responsibility of fostering higher professional agricultural talents for our nation and the undergraduate education should be taken as the extraordinary important aspect in the talent cultivation of higher schools. The questions as what kind of talents should we foster and how to cultivate them should be taken into serious consideration and solved by the higher agriculture undergraduate fostering education. The thesis has made some study on this question.Through analyzing the connotation of modem agriculture and its relationship with higher agriculture undergraduate fostering and on the basis of the primary condition of our modem agriculture development, the fundamental requirement of modem agriculture development to higher agriculture talents is explored. The requirement to talent fostering is elevated with the development of modem agriculture, including the expansion of profession; extension of knowledge; the enhancement of foreign language, computer, laws, cultural and social knowledge; the improvement of fundamental abilities as practicing, communication, expression and writing and the coordinative development in the aspects of consciousness, profession, culture, physical and mental; and the furthering of innovation and pioneering ability.By way of analyzing the condition of foreign higher agriculture undergraduate fostering and the demand of our modem agriculture development, the thesis penetrates into the shortcomings of the higher agriculture talents cultivation, in addition to some reform of our agriculture undergraduate education, some strategic thinking are made towards the agriculture undergraduate cultivation with the background of modem agriculture. The cultivation of modem agriculture undergraduate should start from the following two aspects. One is the demand of society, i. e., the education should be in correspondence with the requirement of modem agriculture development to the fostering of talents; the other is to take the concept of quality education as the guideline and start to construct the all-round talent cultivation system from respective parts. To reform the traditional specialties and add new ones through setting the goals of talent cultivation, and optimize the system of disciplines so as to cater to the talent fostering program of modem agriculture development. To improve the talent cultivation process from the aspects of enhancing teachers' qualification, reforming the teaching contents, teaching method. By sparing no effort in promoting quality education and cultivating students of the innovation spirit and ability, to elevate students' all-round ability and self-develop ability. By furthering the reform of education management and harmonize the relationship between teaching and learning, to make a better external environment for talent fostering.
