Reflection is one of the most important processes in learning. Reflective learning is one of the learning methods that students learn by reflecting their own processes of learning activity. It is characterized by probing , autonomy, development and creativity. The ability of reflective learning for each student is a rather important part in the learning strategy. As a result, how to cultivate students' reflective learning ability is quite significant for students' all life learning.According to the survey done to the students of Senior Grade Three and Senior Grade Two from NO.10 middle school in Xiamen City, we found that most of the surveyed students were poor in reflective learning ability in their biology study, mainly due to the following two facts. First, it is very common that the students lacked the self-consciousness of developing their reflective learning ability and necessary techniques and methods of reflection, and they were short of necessary instruction and corresponding training. Second, teachers placed little emphasis on reflective learning so that they neglected cultivating the students' reflective learning ability. Based on the survey and the experiment in teaching and referred to the theory of primary cognition, the theory of constructive learning and the theory of reflective learning, some intentional strategies had been used in the Contrastive training experimentin biology teaching. We found, the students' reflective ability was greatly improved and, as a result, the students' biology results was much improved, which shows the strategies aimed at cultivating the students' reflective learning ability were practical. Depending on this, we specially raise six strategies: paying much attention to the conscious of reflective learning, learning followed by instruction, thinking by voice, asking questions by oneself; discussing by group and self-evaluating.
