E-learning is the third distance education, technology and service is its bright characteristic which is different from traditional education, this paper studies technology support service in e-learning. Technology support service means: e-learning organization provides various help to those students, teachers, managers and learning centers who meet all kinds of difficulties involved in e-learning, to ensure that the learning environment and process are suitable. Here, technology support service is not learning support service in current distance education, also it's not one part of learning support service, it's new product when distance education becomes e-learning. Now, there aren't special studies focusing on technology support service. This paper studies technology support service, which fills in the blank for e-learning and makes the system of e-learning become more perfect.Firstly, the study compare technology support service with learning support service, and explain the concept of technology support service and its content. Secondly, the author combines the long-term practice and experiments in Distance Education College of East China Normal University with the studies of theory, collects and analyzes correlative data and information, explains the support which technology support service provides to students, puts forward the principia and methods of building the model of technology support service, and puts the principia and methods into practice, provides a more feasible reference model for technology support service. At last, this paper discusses how to ensure the quality of technology support service and how to bring it into play. The study of how to establish the model of technology support service is the most important part of the paper.The brightest characteristic of this paper is that the author brings forward the concept of technology support service, points out that teachers should be both the provider and receiver of support service, and gives out the mode of dynamic and active service, offers new thoughts for technology support service.
