| Auditory comprehension refers to the ability of combining sound and its meaning. It is the highest level in the four levels of auditory skill. In this level, other sense organs and cognitive ability should be used together to get auditory comprehension. The main content of the research is to compare the ability of auditory comprehension of Chinese words and expressions between children with cochlear implantation (CI Children) and normal children. The test material is compiled by myself, including three parts- One Factor terms (words), Two Factor terms (simple phrases) and Three Factor terms (complex phrases). Using the method of experiment, 90 normal children and 14 CI children are tested.Result: (1) The scores of normal children show difference among three ages, while no difference between two genders. (2) The normal children's ability of auditory comprehension grows rapidly from 3 years old to 4 years old, while grows slowly from 4 years old to 5 years old. (3) For the 3 years old and 4 years old children, three tests show difference on degree of difficulty, while for the 3 years old and 4 years old children, there are difference on the degree of difficulty between Two Factor terms (simple phrases) test and Three Factor terms (complex phrases) test. (4) The scores of CI children are lowed than the normal children extremely. (5) The hardest the single word is, the hardest to be handled by CI children. (6) The O-V phrases are simplest to CI children, the scores between two groups do not show significant difference. (7) The scores of CI children are lowed than the normal children on the test of Three Factor terms (complex phrases). |
