Game meets the natural disposition of human being. It is undoubted anywhere or anytime everyone would like the game. Generally, game and learning is the same thing; game comes with learning, and learning follows game, this will be the highest level of learning. Just from a great number of games, a baby learns a lot about the unknown world, masters the mother language, and starts the ability of communications. As an infant baby opens his eyes, watching the unknown world, he is involved in a kind of game. For the baby, game is the best way of learning and entertainment; meanwhile it is also the finest approach to feel and recognize the outside. Game is a kind of amusement, letting kids study pleasurably; game is a kind of creativity, developing the kids' ability to create gradually; game is also a kind of sport, making kids grow up healthily. To combine the game-based learning (GL) with the inquiry-based learning (IL) is both an original idea and a novel try. It is well known that games do attract any ages of people, especially the computer games, which are more amazing and appealing in recent years.This thesis begins with the analysis of the GL concept, and presents the inherent relationship between game and learning. Based on this premise, following the characteristic of IL, the effects of compute games on the IL are analyzed and the idea of game IL is forwarded. With one example of take-role-play computer games, the game IL is discussed detailedly in three aspects, namely the analysis of games, the procedure of learning, and the presentation of cases.The aim of this research is to study the IL and integrate the idea of GL into the environment of IL; then the goal will be to trigger the interests of learners greatly and lead learners to conduct their own IL effectively.The creativity of this thesis is to analyze the concept, characteristics and application principle of the game IL; under the guide of theories of instruction design, the design structure of game IL is built up, and it ultimately will offer the good references to the deep applications of game IL in the future.
