The courses for elementary education aimed at cultivating the whole quality of all students will be expanded throughout China. The new courses have to depend on the new resources .This research topic, based on the standards of biology teaching in average senior schools,which are formulated by the Education Branch of China, is to provide and open biology labs for middle school students.The research topic investigates the present situation of experimenting teaching in average middle schools of local area(Dingxi)and studies the basis, conditions, principles and management to provide biology labs in the area. It draws a conclusion that the biology labs for middle school students should be opened step by step according to the teaching needs and the capacity of schools . It is key to carrying out the work of the biology labs for schools that teachers can change their teaching concepts as well as teaching methods, that students should have right learning attitude, ability and confidence and that school leaders give support to the work of biology labs. Mean-while, some attempts have been made and the effects are obvious: first, the students greatly benefit from the new teaching resource and have improved their thinking, exploring, experimenting and understanding ability. Secondly, they have learned to study actively and creatively and they can cooperate with each other.
