The modern higher vocational education has occured in our country since 1980s.Those specialists and experts have already reached an agreement in the aspect of vocation-oriented in the higher vocational education by comprehensive discussion. The vocation-oriented characteristic has to be realized by means of curriculums eventually. Therefore, the vocation-oriented characteristic has become an important and difficult part in the higher vocational education research.The author tries to explore the reason to improve vocation-oriented characteristic and reveal problems in the aspect of vocation-oriented curriculums of the higher vocational education in our country. By using western developed countries' advanced experience for reference, the author brings forth relevant countermeasures to strengthen the vocation-oriented characteristic in the curriculums of higher vocational education.The higher vocational education aims to cultivate high-talented people with applied skills. The key of its development is the match between its curriculums and occupation preparatory for the college student's future. The inner vocation-oriented characteristic of higher vocational education determines the characteristic of its curriculum. The vocation-oriented characteristic can be mainly anatomized as following several aspects, the diversity of the curriculum's develop body, beamed orient of the aim, practicability of the frame, variety of implementation and the directness of the curriculum's estimate etc.It has a longer history for the development of higher vocational education in developed countries and regions. They accomplished academic researches through accumulation of rich experience on vocation-oriented characteristic. The courses in these countries and regions are usually divided into two kinds: one kind is community college that is typically common in the U.S.A and Canada, emphasizing post training which is strong in adaptability; another is Euro-mode that commonly applied in Germany, where the students accept normal professional education on campus and also get lots of practice in factories with more fixed educational system. Higher vocational course modes in developed countries and regions have a lot in common, The commonness indicates that their emphasis on skill training and practice. It makes great sense that our country make full use of the successful experience from developed countries and regions for higher vocational training . Generally speaking, the settings of higher vocational curriculums cannot adapt well to the aim of cultivation of talented people with applied skill in our country. Its reason is closely related to the concepts of knowledge and ability in our vocational education. Measures of higher vocational courses must be taken to embody the due characteristics and advantages of higher vocational education, make higher vocational education adapted to productive practice and employment needs and make full preparations for the future career of students. The general direction of the reform is to reinforce its vocation-oriented characteristic. The specific countermeasures comprise inviting business people to explore its curriculums, strengthening curriculums integration and intensifying practicing curriculums.
