Dress, the rambling culture, is not only for warm and ethical use, but a symbol of culture. It reflects the essence of nation, custom, conception, aesthetics, gender and even psychology. So dress has definitely been focused by some sociologists and culture scholars, as a significant aspect of culture characteristics.Miao is an ethnos without its own letter. So the dress patterns has been a substitute of letter and become history records through centuries, which made Miao gain its special letter in the dress culture. This paper is focused on Miao dress culture description and illumination in the field of semeiology and social gender, and is expected to find out the relationship between dress symbol and female culture, to reflect the gender characteristics of female culture.The Miao dress culture in this paper, is an unlettered history record, and also the unique complementarity and contribution of minor ethnos to Chinese traditional sociology, comparing to the major history records by Han nationality.
