The main challenge for deaf-education lies in language teaching .Nowadays comprehensively-communicative method of"Oral language teaching aided by gesture and written language"is adopted in the domestic deaf school .But in fact this method has been in dilemma which has had bad effect on the qualities of education and teaching in deaf school to some extent .When the achievements of deaf students are evaluated in deaf educational field ,the common result is that the average learning scores of the deaf students are three or four grades lower ,especially in reading and writing ,than the healthy children at the same age .How to improve the educational and teaching quality ,especially in Chinese teaching ,usually focuses on the teaching methods adopted on deaf students language teaching .Investigations and researches on the degree of hearing damage , the selection of communicative language,training condition of language recovery using of gesture learning ,the present situation of the teachers in special education are made by the author and the result shows that the main problems of language teaching in deaf education school are that the oral-subject-teaching idea needs reforming .Pre-school deaf children are lack of classified guidance provided by the relative service–institutions .The status gesture language aren't valued enough . The active use of deaf education teachers are ignored and special education teachers are on low level .At abroad , the research on the method of deaf-education language teaching has a long history of two hundred years and has formed different schools .Particularly in the eighties, the dual-language and dual-culture teaching method has been prevailing in north Europe ,British ,the U.S and Canada and has brought out a great success. Based on the successful experience of dual-language and dual-culture teaching method , the author believe that the language teaching for deaf student should set up scientifical advancing conceptions of"person-subject",build primary dual-languages mode for deaf children ,develop classified teaching based on different characters ,build strong school surroundings of dual-languages and dual-cultures and establish teacher staff of high quality and adjust the relative policies in order to construct the teaching-method system which suits the situation of our own country .
