The research about fundamental teaching points of legal science for the university students is based on the ones in the textbooks published in recent years. This thesis introduces the developing processes of fundamental teaching points of legal science, focuses on the choices and layout of basic fundamental points of legal science in the new copy published in August, 2006. Using the theories about education, psychology, teaching-material and curriculum, this thesis analyzes the definition of the fundamental teaching points of legal science, according to the characteristics of law. Then it compares the current knowledge to the precedent knowledge. Finally, this thesis sets forth the theory basis and definite principles on how to choose the fundamental teaching points of legal science, concluding establishing reasonable teaching aim, decreasing professional knowledge which is rare in the students' lives, cultivating the constitutional consciousness, legal emotion, right values, human right doctrines and so on to improve the fundamental teaching points of legal science.
