Compare Of Phoneme Contrast Recognize Ability Between CI Children And Normal Children

This research investigated speech recognize ability of 90 normal children and 14 CI children between 3 and 5 years old with Self-made Chinese Minimal Phoneme Contrast Test(MPCT).The results showed that (1) Significant age differences were found in speech recognition in MPCT to normal children. (2) The development speed of speech recognition among three ages is different. (3) the Vowel recognition significantly better than consonant recognition for both normal children and CI children.(4) In general, the vowel and consonant recognition of CI children was worse than normal children in the same age (5)The biggest differences were found in curl tongue regeneration and the smallest difference was found in regeneration of different articulate matter between CI children and normal children. (6) The most difficult subtest of vowel regeneration was nasal regeneration, the different degree regeneration of opening mouths was the easiest for both CI and normal child.
