Consumption , which throughout people's whole life , is the life line of human's existing and development, the basic activity of people's daily life. However , such a crucial educational subject, could just be learned from everyday life. Just like what Ms Wilcox ,the president of British consumer committee has once put forward "many student have a unilateral view of the market ,they understand the process of production and distribution ,but can not make decision onbuying necessities and services……without showing the two aspects to them , how can we expectthem growing as an healthy adult owning the basic living skills."With the forthcoming of economic globalization and market internationalization, Chinese consumption area is undergoing a profound reform, and consumer related problems is becoming more and more diversified and complicated which has led to serious social problems , learning from daily life can no longer meet people's demand. Furthermore , Chinese market economy has entered a period of rapid development, consumer behavior related environmental issues will become more and more diversified and serious. Thus , it's the time for us to focus on consumer education, just like Marianne ,a Nordic scholar said "In consumer education, there is no reason to wait"This essay is one of the country's very first essays which carries out studies on consumer education in school, and also the first systematic exploration in China on consumer education in European schools. It not only thoroughly explains the meanings of consumer education, introduces the condition of consumer education in school as well as the European models of school consumer education, but also takes an all-round comparison on consumer education and school consumer education between China and Europe, thus fills the blank of this studying areas domestically, providing a certain guidance for our country to carry out school consumer education. Firstly, there's just economists and scholars from consumer associations who've introduced consumer education, whereas very few scholars of education circles have set foot on it. Therefore, the second part of the paper explains the consumption and consumer education in detail, displaying the outcomes of this researching area. Secondly, very few schools and districts have carried out activities in China , the majority of scholars and teachers are unfamiliar with this field , thus the third part illustrates the developmental condition and meaning of global school consumer education , in hope of informing our people with the importance of school consumer education. Furthermore , the forth and fifth part focus on the European module of school consumer education, ranging from formal education to informal education, from curriculum content, teaching method to teacher training, which fully displaying consumer education of European schools on the basis of existing material . Finally, based on the systematic study of European consumer education in schools , combining with current condition of our country, the last part compares the consumer education and school consumer education between China and Europe, Through comparison, it displays the domestic status on this area, showing the huge gaps between China and Europe, and also provides a reference for us to carry out consumer education in schools.
