The Third Plenary Session of the sixteenth Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party bring forward"insisting on'People first', building up comprehensive,harmonious and sustainable scientific development view, promoting the economy and all-around development of people.""People first"is the essence and demand of scientific development view, but in the past ideological and political education of university students ignored"People first", resulted in many problems, so the idea and mode of traditional ideological and political education of university students should be reformed, ideological and political education of university students with"People first"should be advanced in new century.Based on the previous background, The thesis aims at analyzing that"People first"is the essential principle of ideological and political education through the idea of description and comparison of ideological and political education, such as humanitarianism,"Taking society as foundation","People first"and the prime purpose of ideological and political education of university students with"People first"is to improve all-around development of people. On the basis of this, it points out the essential principle and countermeasure ideological and political education of university students with"People first".The thesis divided into five chapters, Chapter 1 is introduction; Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 describe two argumentation that"People first"is the essential principle of ideological education and the prime purpose of ideological and political education of university students with"People first"is to improve all-around development of people; Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 expound the principle and countermeasure of ideological and political education of university students with"People first".I thought, through the discussion and exposition of the above, it would promote ideological and political education of university students with"People first", thus the function and value of ideological and political education can be brought into full play.
