In the 19th century, when the industrial revolution happens in the UK, the British society has undergone a most violent social change. Political, economic, cultural, social and other aspects experiences the essential nature of the changes . Britain eventually changes from an agricultural society to industrial society. During this transformation, as a subsystem of the community , universities have suffered a lot of impact, but also face great challenges. Change is not necessarily eliminated, but the reform of the Church will inevitably meet with the opposition of conservative forces. If they are not handled properly, University of the development will be adversely affected. In the University of social interaction in the process, the University's own ideas, values and responsibility will be left with a dilemma. How to do? Cambridge gives us a successful model.Borned in the Middle Age, Cambridge has been the 800-year and has a great reputation in the history of the higher education of the United Kingdom. For thousands of years, Cambridge has used its outstanding tradition and study attracted countless students. However, "Cambridge is proud of the fact that she would not wind wafted. " Facing with the social structure and value model crises, Cambridge was famous with its successfully dealing with that situation. Indeed, as the world's most ancient one of the most famous universities, now,it has become a thriving development of small high-tech enterprises of a positive factor, which in itself is very intriguing. And it has also become quite fascinating research topic to ask how Cambridge can do in the natural history of higher education. Based on the British social transformation as a backdrop, Cambridge University study of a series of reforms and the achievements and impact on the community, with a view to reform our universities provide some experience and the lessons which can be learned. In the first part of the article, the author focuses on the 19th century throughout Europe, the United Kingdom and the University of British conditions, to enable readers to understand the Cambridge reform of the social backgrounds. In the second part, the author analyzed the motives for the reform from the religious restrictions strict, rigid and rigid examination system, curriculum out of touch with the needs of society, the challenges of the new universities as well as the financing and management of the country .Cambridge highlighted reform of the external and internal challenges under the pressure. The third part, the author analyzes the reform program. Emphasizing the physical Sciences ,reducing the religious control, strengthening the government's intervention, the internal management system improvements, Cavendish Physics Laboratory's establishing, Cambridge makes itself unique in the intense social changes through these areas. And the last part, the author uses "Nobel Prize" and the "Cambridge Phenomenon" as examples to discuss the the social impact and contributions of the reform.Through the analysis of the Cambridge'reform , we can see that when facing with the challenge of transforming of the community, the University must make corresponding adjustments to maintain its vitality and status, not only to inherent characteristics and the soul but also to strengthen the interaction with the community.
