The training of communicative competence is the final goal of language learning and oral communicative competence is the comprehensive performance of language. With China's entry into WTO, it is more urgent and important to use English to communicate. China has its largest EFL learning population in the world, however, the current situation of English speaking teaching in middle schools is far from satisfying. In order to stimulate students'initiative of English learning, it has become the focus topic of teaching that teachers develop learner-centered teaching activities to improve students'English oral communicative competence.According to the relative theories at home and abroad, the thesis has analyzed the main problems existing in middle school students'oral communication in my country. The author thinks that the reason why their oral communicative competence is so weak has been related to our teaching approaches directly. In order to prove it further, we have also made an experiment, although the scale is limited, it has showed that teaching approaches and teaching results are relative in some way. This thesis is to offer some valuable suggestions, such as, choosing appropriate topics, stimulating students'motivation and reducing students' anxiety and so on, for language teachers and learners who have an interest in improving English oral communicative competence, by the analysis of main problems involved in middle school students'oral communication and the application of communicative language teaching. It will be helpful to create tolerant and comfortable learning environment and to promote students'full communication between each other. It is expected that, through the statement of these learning strategies, we can use the theory of learning into our teaching practice and the paper is workable towards possible solutions for those problems that we are now facing in the teaching and learning of oral communicative competence.
