Presently, the high school physics teachers thought vernier caliper teaching method is sole and the student is high to the vernier caliper question understanding error ratio. Therefore it is the necessity that full understanding and reasonably uses the new curriculum the idea to improve to the vernier caliper teaching.The first chapters model of this paper with document law and the example studying caliper principle and relevance concept. These are findings through the research.1.the caliper principle contains two aspect: The principle (the parallelogram is equal in across flats) , vernier getting stuck subdivide principle; The caliper invention has contained ;2.all above two principle application , Chinese has invented a calliper only , has not invented a vernier; 3. the vernier subdivides principle is to assist effect to carve out more scale mark , to improve numerical reading accuracy thereby being equivalent by traveling scale's. 4.The caliper accuracy points to the number accuracy being ascertained when being to design a caliper , getting rid of to subdivide from minimal graduation of host ruler reaches.
