Study On The Contemporary Dilemma And Reconstruction Of Teacher's Authority

The authority of teachers, which can be accepted by students willingly and has such great impact to them that they trust and obey the teachers, is defined in this paper as the convincing strength teachers own. Nowadays, the role of teachers' authority in education is more and more important with the development of quality education and the strengthening of students.Now there're some problems in the practice of education, which refers to the weakening of the actual authority of teachers and abundance of authoritarianism of teachers. This phenomenon will do harm to the development of both teachers and students. What's more, we're facing the incomplete study of the teachers' authority.Five parts are included in this essay:Chapter 1 interprets it again and gives it new meaning on the basis of complete analyze of teachers' authority.Chapter 2 reviews the history of teacher's authority in both western countries and China.Chapter 3 clarifies the concept, and analyzes the necessity of its existence. And this chapter also shows what the basic elementary is when put into practice and how its function is realized.Chapter 4 gives cautious analyze to those theoretical and practical problemsChapter 5 points out that it's critical to rebuild new rational authority to solve the problems about the authority of teachers. On how to establish rational teachers' authority, having new concepts of it, revolution of relative social system, transiting teachers' roles and changes of students' idea about teachers are very important.
