Education in China of the 21st century is a field of highly complicated factors and more detailed divisons on school majors.On the occasion, people's self-dominating consciousness is deeply strenghtened, values are more diversified, the traditional authority is disintegrating, and the forms of leadership has been transferred from autocratic concept to valural sense, which are respecting person and emphasizing on humanity. School Moral Leadership has been paid much attention by international education management field since formed.This paper starts with the origination of the theory and then discusses its content and basic characteristics. In addition, it analyzes the necessity of the theory and elaborates on its theoretical basis.Moreover, it analysizes deeply into the root of leadship theory. At last, it suggests many measures needed to be taken connecting with Chinese conditions.Through an detailed interpretation on School Moral Leadership, this paper intends to clarify the definition of the theory and make a comparison with the Chinese traditional "education based on virtue". It is helpful for us to learn its positive aspects, improve our research of educational management, and make our school leadership more effective.
