Thomas J. Sergiovanni, the education administration professor of America, who has created the thoughts of moral leadership after long period of research and we try to fulfill the theory of education administration and we also want to enrich the practice experience through detailed arrangement and analyze of the materials that we have owned.This thesis consists of three main parts. Part one explores the background and resources including the life experiences, the practice as well as theoretical references of Sergiovanni's moral leadership. Part two analyzes Sergiovanni's moral leadership system. He explains the concept in details and demonstrates the necessity of put it center of school management. In his opinion, moral authority makes school come to the routine of self-management through stimulate people's inner motivation and improve the self-management of community members. And then, there is a presentation of reflective practice perspective, community building and leadership substitutes, all of which make the system being perfect. The last part demonstrates the evaluations on Sergiovanni's moral leadership and its influence on Chinese education management field.Moral leadership has been highly praised since its address; people begin to query the school leadership training model and school management reform. We should take objective sight on this theory. On one side, it is the not only the heritage of education administration but also the heritage of whole management area; on the other side, it also has some flaws as "too much moral" and "religionism". At last, we come to the conclusion of sergiovanni's moral leadership to the nation's educational management practice: proposing a moral authority based leadership practice, leading a "culture coherence" leadership, actualizing the share of leadership and promoting "small class" teaching model.
