The thesis focuses on systemic theory and site research about students'status classification, with the eyes of education and Class Y in X Middle school of S City as an example, also with using education, sociology, psychics and other branches as its theory basis. Chinese educational system has changed thoroughly since resuming National Entrance Examination in 1997.Under such pressure, new separation and organization happened to educational system, especially classification happened to schools when resuming middle education and rebuilding key schools. The criteria of entering high school changed into marks.Rating students to excellent, middle and bad ones, dividing them into key and non-key classes as per the students'marks is very popular. Such situation also occurred to the class unit.No doubt,it not only has been contradicted with National Educational Compulsory Policies and Laws but also has bad effects on students'growing . Therefore, it will have meaning to society with scientific attitudes, in order to make educational targets come true and fair and become the very beginning of studying it.In sociology, personal status refers to the right position in society. A school is a kind of society system. A student has his own corresponding position. The forming courses and results are students'status classification.It has deeply effected on level of self-expectation, formation of self-concept, development of mentality health and class construction. The thesis studies the status stratification of class students systematically, which can provide microcosmic educational fairness research with basis of theory and practice, and enrich research of class sociology by the new angle. The thesis summarizes the backgrounds, conditions and functions of rationality to social class, specifies the meanings and scopes of the students stratification in class, and builds a preliminary theory framework which is on the basis of social position of class students and regards possession conditions of the achieving resources of school work, organizational resources in class and peer group as the scopes. Meanwhile, this thesis investigates the conditions of students'achievement position stratification, organization position stratification, groups position stratification in X class in Y middle school. Also enquires the ideas about opening the rating results as per students'marks. The thesis puts forward some operational strategies and thoughts on compulsory education etc.
